PTSA Website Policy
The Wilder PTSA has established
the following guidelines for its website to
maintain the safety of students, staff, and
parents, and to protect the privacy of students.
Please refer to the Lake
Washington School District Web Publishing Style
Guide & Guidelines for School Web Pages at
www.lwsd.org for further information not
discussed below.
Everything posted on the Wilder
PTSA website must be in compliance with the LWSD
Acceptable Use Procedure and the Web Publishing
Style Guide.
Content

Content must be school
related. Staff members, parents, and
students may not post personal web pages on
the Wilder PTSA website.

Staff members and students
may not post personal home or e-mail
addresses, or phone, FAX or pager numbers on
the Wilder PTSA website.

Published documents must NOT
include a child’s phone number, e-mail
address, street address, or mailing address.

Documents must NOT include
any content which indicates the physical
location of a student at a given time other
than attendance at a particular school or
participation in school activities.

Documents must conform to
school district policies, established school
guidelines, and copyright laws.

The website must contain a
current e-mail address of the designated
school web manager.

The VP of Communications must
approve all content before it becomes “live”
on the PTSA website.

Staff members and parents
must give written permission for their own
and/or students’ photographs to be posted. A
photo release form either signed annually or
for each episode will be used for every
photo, every time.

Each photo will be labeled
“Posted with Parent Permission”

No full names will be used
with photographs. Only first name and/or
first name with last initial & grade will be
allowed.

Full names can be used with
written work, but parent permission is
required using the district release form.
Release is good until revoked by parent or
child moves to another school in the
district. Information must be labeled
“Posted with Parent Permission”.

The Wilder PTSA will not post
the Student Directory on its website.

The Wilder Wolf mascot and
logo can be used.
Copyright
Content posted on all LWSD websites will adhere
to all standard copyright laws. Copyrighted
content must state that it is published with
permission after the permission has been
obtained. All other content needs to be designed
by LWSD staff, students, and parents.
External Links
ALL links must be checked regularly. Delete or
repair any broken links immediately. Any
external documents that are linked must meet the
same content standards as LWSD sites. See LWSD
Web Style Publishing Guide for details.
Wilder PTSA Website Management
Plan
The VP of Communications will be responsible for
keeping the website current throughout the year.
All officers will be responsible for updating
their respective areas, and communicate that to
the VP of Communications.
The VP of Communications will
make sure all old information is deleted from
the website prior to September 1st of each year.
