Columbia Choirs

COLUMBIA CHOIRS is an international award-winning, community based, non-sectarian family of choirs training singers 3-years-old through adult. It is a fun, welcoming place to learn how to sing better, while making new friends!  Since 1984 we have been bringing singers together for international award-winning musical training and performance opportunities. We provide connection with children and families of similar interests. We believe everyone can learn how to carry a tune and have a variety of opportunities to help our singers grow personally through singing.

Overlake Hospital - Family Education Programs

The Family/Community Education Department at Overlake Hospital Medical Center is proud to offer its Spring 2008 Parenting and Community Education Programs. Click here for more information.

Super Sitters is a program designed to train young people, ages 11 to 17, in basic babysitting skills, safety and infant child care.  Those completing the course will be better prepared to provide a safer, more effective and positive babysitting experience.  The course is taught by experienced, qualified Overlake Hospital Medical Center instructors, with presentations by trained professionals from the community.

Redmond Police Department

The Redmond Police Department will be presenting a Neighborhood Block Watch Interest Meeting on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. at the Public Safety Building Training Room (8701 160th Avenue NE). Come and learn how to create a safer community for you and your neighbors. Captains of current Block Watch programs and anyone interested in learning more about the Neighborhood Block Watch program are urged to attend.

 

Neighborhood Block Watch is a program that encourages citizens to know their neighbor and watch out for one another. It involves a partnership between citizens and their police department. Some of the topics covered include:

 

  • What is a Neighborhood Block Watch program?

  • Neighborhoods that have active Block Watch programs

  • How to begin a Block Watch

  • What other neighborhoods are doing—what’s working and what isn’t

  • How the Redmond Police Department can help you and your community

  • Plus much more!

Class size is limited so please RSVP with your name(s) to the crime prevention unit by email (jbove@redmond.gov) or by calling 425-556-2545.

 

This class is part of "Safety Wednesdays," a FREE on-going series of crime prevention programs which take place the final Wednesday of every month. The next class will be on Wednesday, June 25, 2008. More information to come on that class and many others.

Washington Communities Against Predators

Kirkland Moms' is hosting a Child Safety Seminar at Juanita Elementary, on May 20th, from 6:30-830 PM. Preventative, non-scary safety information, geared toward parents with children who are elementary school-aged and younger, will be presented. Also present will be an officer from the Kirkland Police Department, who will provide best safety practices in and around the area.

The information presented will be based on the Take 25 program from NCMEC. Take 25 is a partner organization to national PTA.
