Kamiakin Junior High, 14111 132^nd Ave NE, Kirkland. Cross the street from John Muir Elementary school

SCHEDULE

Check in required (from 8:00 AM till 8:45 AM). Players not checked in by then risk first round forfeit. Tournaments begin at 9:30 AM. Target time for award ~4:00 PM. A coaches/officials meeting will take place at 9:00 AM.

REGISTRATION

Entry fee is $15.00 per child. Limit 160 players. Please contact Yasaman Koppel via e-mail at jmchesstournament@yahoo.com with preliminary registration information as soon as possible to help our planning. Final registration lists due by 01/20/2007, 100% pre-registration – no last minute signups. Please submit one check per school, payable to John Muir PTA. FORMAT

5 round Swiss; all kids will play all five games. Three sections: K, 1-3, 4-6. Time control is game 25 (maximum fifty minutes for each game). Judges will put clocks on games if it looks like the players won’t finish before the time limit for the round. Computer will break ties. Sections may be adjusted depending on the number of entries.

AWARDS

Trophies for overall, section, grade level and team.

TOURNAMENT AREAS

Kamiakin Junior High gym. Gathering area/parent-waiting area will be in the cafeteria.

MISCELLANEOUS

Concession will be available all day. Judges will be needed the day of the tournament.

FOOD

Breakfast and lunch will be available to purchase at the tournament.
