6th Grade Community Service

For about nine years now there has been a wonderful program here at Wilder Elementary School called, “The Wilder Community Service Project”. For our sixth graders, this is a voluntary opportunity to serve in their surrounding community. The project’s mission is for your child to be successful in their volunteer experience.

In the past week, PTSA members introduced and explained this project to all the sixth graders. For your review and acknowledgment, attached you will find a packet of information: acknowledgement form, community service guidelines, and project approval form. It is highly suggested that you and your child read and review its contents at a personally convenient time within the next few weeks. After familiarizing yourselves with the project, please sign and return this form acknowledging your understanding of the guidelines of this project.

Parental support and supervision will help to ensure a successful project. Your assistance in helping them choose an area of service as well as making any necessary arrangements for transportation and adult supervision is appreciated.

Tamara Goodwin and Debbie Love are organizing the program this year. However, all parents are invited and highly encouraged to create, organize and facilitate any possible service project ideas that they may have.

Thank you.
