Monday After School Art

Registration Ends December 18th, 2007

After school art classes, sponsored by the PTSA, will again be offered at Wilder Elementary for the Winter Semester. These are ongoing classes and projects are not repeated. A commitment is required through June 9th, 2008. These classes meet once a week on Mondays.

Art For Kids School is a sequential, process oriented, program designed to enhance your child’s enjoyment of art and creative expression. The emphasis in the program is to acquaint children with various materials to enhance their self-esteem in regards to their creativity and to develop skills (similar to piano lessons). Children are provided with an opportunity to explore their creativity through a variety of materials. Drawing techniques are incorporated in these classes as well as painting and sculpting techniques. All supplies are furnished and they include: pen and ink, watercolors, acrylics, pastels and clay. The only exception to this is a $25 bronze casting fee.

The classes are for children 5-12 and will take place after school on Mondays from 3:40pm-4:40pm for the younger children ages (5-8) and 4:55-5:55 for the older children (ages 9-12). The classes begin January 7th, 2008 and continue through June 9th, 2008. Payment is due the first art class of each month ($46.00 per month). Limited scholarships are available. All parents must sign up to be present for several classes during the semester. The sign up sheet is available the first class.
